Text imprint
In this tutorial we’ll show you how to make “imprint” a text into an object in 3ds max. For example, this procedure can be used to add a realistic “made in” sign on product.
Create a plane with a length and width of you choice, but with 64 length and width segments and convert it to editable poly.
Note: It’s important that the object on which the text will be imprinted has a lot of polygons so that the text will be nicely transferred to it.

Go to the Create panel -> Shapes -> Text and create a text object on top of the plane.

Now, convert the text object to editable poly and text will be now filled with polygons.

Select the polygons and extrude them for 30 units or so.

Move the text downwards a little bit so that text and plane intersect nicely.

Select the plane and go to Geometry -> Compound objects and click on the Boolean button. Set the Operation option to Cut, Refine. Click on the Pick Operand B button and select (click on it) the text.

You should get something like this.

Select the polygons that make the text on the plane and extrude them downwards.

Now just render the scene.
